  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar (combined)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or deep pie dish.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat until bubbly. Pour this mixture into the prepared pan and arrange the sliced apples on top.
  3. In mixing bowls, combine the dry ingredients in one and cream together softened butter with sugars in another. Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, sour cream (or yogurt), and milk into the wet mix.
