  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 jars maraschino cherries (10 ounces each)
  • For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons cherry juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. In one bowl, mix sugar, milk, oil, egg, and almond extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  4. Fold in coarsely chopped maraschino cherries.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let cool before glazing with a mixture of powdered sugar, melted butter, cherry juice, and almond extract.
