  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream softened butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with milk until just combined.
  5. In another bowl, mix chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Layer half the batter in the prepared pan, top with half the apple mixture, then swirl gently.
  7. Add remaining batter and apple mixture on top; sprinkle with topping mixture.
  8. Bake for about 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before drizzling with glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, cinnamon, and water.
