  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
  • ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. While warm, brush with melted butter and coat with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
