  • 1 & 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries (about 3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan with nonstick spray or parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Press about two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan. Evenly distribute the cleaned cranberries on top.
  5. Mix the remaining dough with chopped walnuts and crumble it over the cranberries.
  6. Chill the assembled pan for about 20 minutes before baking.
  7. Bake for 42-45 minutes until golden brown around the edges. Let cool before slicing into bars.
