Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup dry white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Coat with flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter and sauté sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning for 5-6 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for one minute. Pour in white apple vinegar and allow it to reduce by half (2-3 minutes).
  5. Stir in heavy cream and return cooked chicken to the pan. Simmer for an additional five minutes until the chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
