  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the combined cream of mushroom soup and milk. Repeat with remaining ingredients and top with cheese.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.
