  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (as a Worcestershire sauce substitute)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow or rotini)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in cooked pasta until well combined.
  5. Transfer to the baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
