  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons real vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups dark chocolate (coarsely chopped or chips)
  • Sea salt flakes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your hard caramel by following your preferred quick method.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
