  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (plus extra for seasoning)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (plus extra for seasoning)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 11.5 lbs flat iron steak

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil, Dijon mustard, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
  2. Place the flat iron steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess marinade. Season both sides with additional salt and pepper.
  4. Grill the steak for about 3-5 minutes per side until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F for medium rare or to your desired doneness.
  5. Let the steak rest for about 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
