Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups creamy conventional peanut butter
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs plus 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and chopped semisweet chocolate together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar with the melted mixture, then mix in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and sea salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into a greased baking pan. Spread evenly and dollop peanut butter on top before layering remaining brownie batter over it.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean with some moist crumbs.
  7. Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
